About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Alison, I provide a therapy and counselling service in Hinckley, Leicestershire. Deciding to access counselling can be daunting, thank you for considering working with me.
What is happening for you and the impact on you is at the forefront for me; what you're feeling is real and important. I want to acknowledge your courage taking this step to invest in your wellbeing.
I want to work with you to help you understand yourself better, your situation and your individual lived experiences to enable you to move towards the changes you want to make.
I specialise in Nature Therapy, working through nature; with a focus on working with bereavement, loss, anxiety and self concept (the relationship you have with yourself. I offer this in a woodland or country park space.
Being side by side, I work with you as we encounter nature on both your body and mind to unlock and shift what you are feeling. This promotes understanding and clarity on what your are experiencing.
I also work face to face in my office and online through zoom which offers you a flexible approach to best meet your circumstances and preferences.
I will offer you a safe & accepting space to help you discover a greater awareness of yourself, a better understanding of yourself and why you feel the way you do. This allows for a move towards the changes you want to make.
At my core is my person centered training, this means I will never give you advice and I won't tell you what to do. What I will do is offer a safe space free of judgment, listen deeply and ask some questions to better understand your world and what this means for you.
Sometimes finding words to convey what you are feeling can be challenging so I am able to draw up on other therapeutic approaches such as creative methods, grounding techniques and natural mindfulness.
