About me and my therapy practice
Welcome! My name is Elli and I am a registered counsellor, providing adults with brief, long-term or open-ended therapy concerning a wide range of difficulties.
About Me
Valuing the universal need for empathic, safe, and authentic connection, I place the therapeutic relationship in the centre of what I do. I strive to provide a sensitive and compassionate environment where, through working together, you can gain insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, empowering you in making informed decisions about your life and your way forward.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, bringing together different aspects of specific therapies. I have experience working with a number of psychotherapeutic modalities including person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive-analytic therapy (CAT) and schema therapy among others.
Experience
I hold experience working within primary, secondary and specialist NHS services as well as charities. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults with a range of mental health difficulties and have significant experience working with survivors of complex trauma (such as physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect), and those diagnosed with personality disorders.
I have also acquired specialist knowledge in working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse as well as in the area of Psychodermatology.

My first session
Taking the decision to come to therapy can feel daunting and you might have questions around this process and what to expect. It might also be difficult to know what kind of therapy suits you best with all the options available.
I offer a free, initial 30-minute consultation over the phone where you can ask, any questions you might have and I can get a sense of what you need support with. Following this and provided you wish to continue; we can schedule a time to meet.
During the first session, we can explore what brings you to therapy and we can think together about your needs and what therapy might offer you. You can then book a further appointment if you wish.
