Welcome to my profile! I have worked in the business of empowering people for over 25 years. I initially trained as a Person-Centred Counsellor but now use an eclectic approach. Over the years, I have undertaken continued professional development which has enabled me to achieve the status of Trauma Informed Therapist. In addition, I have undertaken CPD in the fields of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Transactional Analysis (TA) to name a few. I am constantly striving to develop, both personally and professionally, and, therefore, am currently working towards BACP accreditation status. I have extensive experience and skills in coaching and mentoring and am a qualified teacher and careers advisor. I have a particular interest and experience in working with survivors of all kinds of abuse as well as working with autistic / neurodivergent people. I am an ally to people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community and people with disabilities. I have worked for many years in senior management roles within the social care industry and have worked as a professional change agent and trouble-shooter not only to facilitate personal change with individuals but also on a corporate level, transforming failing care and residential homes and social care services to bring them up to the required standard in a matter of months. In addition to this I have managed a secure forensic unit providing me with insight into the mind and motives of offenders and at the other end of the spectrum have worked with those who have experienced rape and sexual abuse.

I offer one to one counselling as well as life and careers coaching. My corporate work includes staff training and critical incident debriefing. I also open up psychoeducation courses and self-care / support groups to the public from my therapy room in Hartlepool. I  am a qualified trainer and educator. I have worked in several colleges as a lecturer delivering courses up to HND level on counselling and social care subjects. Alongside my private counselling practice  I currently work as a training consultant for various social care companies, devising and delivering training. 

I can devise and deliver a wide range of social care, mental health, disability and counselling topics. I run accredited courses as well as awareness sessions. I am able to devise bespoke courses for social care companies or deliver tailored awareness sessions for parents and carers on subjects such as Autistic spectrum conditions. 

I offer a free consultation for you to specify your personal or business's needs. In this session we will decide on learning outcomes to be achieved I will then provide you with a quote for the total cost of the work agreed.
