I work in person in Edinburgh city centre as well as online. Get in touch to see if I have space that would suit you.
About me and my therapy practice
We all have times when some extra support is needed. I provide a safe, caring, confidential space where you have the opportunity to talk about what you need to. This may be dealing with a current crisis or decision, coping with ongoing challenges, processing traumatic events or difficult experiences from the past, or whatever you are needing. I work in person and online.
I will listen to you and reflect with you and support you in finding ways forward with whatever you are dealing with.
I have worked with people with many issues, including the challenges faced by neuro-diverse people (ADHD and autism) navigating our neuro-typical oriented society.
I trained as a counsellor at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 2018. My training is in both person-centred and psychodynamic counselling and I use both in my work. I am a member of BACP. In 2020, I completed an additional qualification in online counselling.
Counselling is a safe, supportive place for you to take time for you. I believe firmly that we can all benefit from looking within and getting to know ourselves more. Life throws challenges our way and at times we need the support of others to cope with those challenges. My role, as counsellor, is to support you and listen to you, helping you to develop your own resilience and ability to accept yourself. I offer a warm presence and a willingness to journey alongside you.
There are many reasons you might decide to seek counselling. Maybe you are feeling low and as if you have lost your spark. It could be that you have had a difficult situation or event that you need help with coping with. You may be suffering from anxiety or depression or having relationship difficulties. Perhaps you are interested in self development, or are on your own journey training to become a counsellor. Any and all of these, as well as many other reasons, may have led you here. If you are interested in talking to me, please do get in touch.
I look forward to meeting you.
Practice description
I work in client-led way. You are the expert on yourself. I will listen to you and support you. However, I won't leave you struggling how to begin. I will reflect with you on your experiences and feelings, journeying alongside you as you explore the issues you bring to counselling.
I look forward to meeting you and being part of the next steps you are taking in your life's journey.
My first session
When we first meet, it is a chance for us both to decide if we will be a good fit to work together. I will outline the issues of confidentiality and we can discuss logistics. I will also ask you to provide me with some basic information about yourself, as well as contact details and an emergency contact. You will also have chance to explain to me what you are looking for and tell me what brought you to counselling.
