About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor working with adults. I offer counselling sessions either from my home-based practice in Bath, outside in the beautiful surrounding green spaces or remotely.
My work is predominantly grounded in Person-Centred and humanistic approaches - meaning that I work in a client-led way, with curiosity in getting to know the real you. Counselling sessions are yours to bring and discuss whatever is on your mind, and I won't try and fit you into a theoretical framework, instead I will offer space and guidance for self-reflection and connection with your most authentic self.
Starting on a journey of self-discovery or healing can be intimidating, anxiety-provoking and sometimes confusing, and in our work together I want to ensure you are supported in a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space to allow you to make the changes in your life that you wish for.
If helpful or appropriate for you and your journey, I can also draw upon psychoeducational resources and some more mindful, embodied techniques.
I’m also passionate about the natural world and understanding how we relate to all that is around us, and I believe that consideration of these relationships can be a powerful resource within the therapeutic process. My own research interests are currently focussing on how we connect to non-human others/spaces and the potential that exploration of these connections might have in understanding our true selves and experiences.
Practice description
I am offering sessions remotely via Zoom, and from my home-based practice in Bath. The environment in which sessions take place is important to me, and I hope that my plant-filled, light and airy space that feels warm, safe, calm and allows for reflection.
I offer weekly, open ended therapy or time-limited sessions, and sessions will be held at the same time each week. Fortnightly sessions can be offered if appropriate.
The potential of nature and the outside world as a source of healing is a something I am very passionate about, and I am also able to offer sessions of walk & talk therapy - taking our sessions outdoors and into nature. Please do get in touch if this is something you would be interested in and I would be happy to discuss how this might work for you.
My first session
I believe that the relationship between counsellor and client is a really important element in the healing process - its so important for you to choose someone you feel comfortable with. With this in mind I am happy to arrange a free exploratory phone call with you, to discuss how we might work together, and so I can answer any questions you might have. Following this call, if we decide to work together we will arrange for an initial face to face or online session.
