About me and my therapy practice

Ok! Is it time to do something about how you have been feeling? It could be that you have been struggling with your negative thoughts, work stress, health challenges, difficulties in your relationships, increased anxiety, low mood, or all of the above and then some. That is the first step, recognising that you can do something different right now to change the way you feel. You may or may not have sought support in the past but that was then, and this is now. It is never too late to put yourself first and prioritise what you need.

Using a Relational approach offering a warm, safe and non-judgemental space to discuss and explore your concerns, we engage in a therapeutic relationship, which is accepting, appropriately open and challenging. I aim to foster growth within this relationship to engender hope and empower.

Whatever stage of life circumstance you are, I am available to explore with you and work towards your identified goals. I have over 20 years of experience in working with people with emotional difficulties at various stages of life and from various backgrounds, so I would be happy to work with you. Give me a call and let us see what we can achieve.

Practice description

My background and experience is in working with adults towards their recovery from mental ill-health; adults with cognitive impairments and adults and their families with life limiting and end of life needs. I use an holistic approach to promote improved awareness and insight to your circumstances helping to make sense of your difficulties. My work is culturally sensitive and I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds who may not have necessarily considered counselling as an option in the past. My core belief is that you are important, your life is significant and valuable at whatever stage of life or circumstance you are. The theoretical approach used is Relational, integrating aspects from other approaches where this may be helpful for you.

My first session

Our first session would be an holistic assessment including your mental and physical health history in order to identify the concerns you would like support with and other factors that may impact on your well-being.
