About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Carlo and I am a counsellor and psychotherapist working in East London (Bethnal Green) and online via Zoom. I am an integrative therapist which means I integrate the three main schools of psychotherapy:
- Person-centred (working with the core values of empathy, authenticity and being non-judgemental).
- Psychodynamic (examining the unconscious and how the past affects the present).
- CBT (developing understanding of the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviour) in order to best suit my clients’ needs.
I believe that everybody is different and will find different techniques helpful - so I like to work collaboratively and find what works for you. If you've had a previous experience of therapy that hasn't been best suited to you, please let me know and we can work together to find a style that is a good fit, and can help you make the changes you want to see.
I work with a variety of issues in therapy such as anxiety, depression, relationships, life changing events or transitionary periods. I have specific clinical expertise in working with people newly diagnosed with HIV and welcome clients from the wider LGBT+ communities.
I have an M.Sc. degree in therapeutic counselling and am a registered member of the BACP.
Practice description
I work from a beautiful and quiet therapy room in East London (Bethnal Green, E2) or online via Zoom. I offer a complimentary online consultation (free of charge) which is a non-judgemental opportunity for you to decide if we are a good fit for working together. There is no obligation to continue therapy following this initial consultation.
My fees are £60 for online work and £70 for face-to-face work. Sessions are 50 minutes long and are weekly, at the same time and day each week. I have a small number of reduced fee slots reserved for counselling/psychotherapy students and a waiting list should there be none available at the time of your enquiry. Please send me a message if you would like to enquire about these. I try to respond to all enquiries made during the working week within 24 hours (please check your junk/spam folders for an email from carlo@eastlondonandcitytherapy.com).
Please note I am unable to respond to enquiries via text, so please ensure you select alternate contact methods when submitting your enquiry. Thank you
My first session
Our first session together is usually slightly different from regular sessions. It's an opportunity for us to get to know each other and I may have more questions than usual in order to best understand how I can offer you support that is tailored to you as an individual.
Similarly, you may have some questions for me about the way I work and what to expect going forward. Please don't hesitate to ask whatever you want to - this space is for you to explore and reflect and I will do my best to be transparent, and to offer you a safe and supportive space in which to do so.
