About me and my therapy practice
Day to day life, conflicts, compromises, and the unexpected can grind us down. Perhaps you've been thinking about having some relationship counselling or marriage guidance/counselling. Maybe you want to work out who you are or where you're going in life. Or perhaps some of the below scenarios resonate with how you’re feeling...
- Feeling sad or depressed, lacking motivation, disinterested in life.
- Feeling anxious in social situations.
- Wanting to improve your life but scared of change or don’t know where to start.
- Feeling as if you have no purpose or something's missing but you're not sure what.
- Feeling unloved, as if nobody cares, or everyone’s against you.
- Continuously preoccupied with your relationship.
- Finding it hard to control your emotions, feeling angry, or crying all the time.
- Seeking solace from alcohol, exercise, food, self-harm, or obsessions; worried you’re on a path of self-destruction.
- Bombarded by intrusive thoughts, worrying you might act on them. Thinking everyone would be better off without you.
- Suppressing feelings, avoiding conflict, or feeling resentful.
- Seeking reassurance, and feeling rejected when people don’t respond how you need them to. Or tired of always making the first move.
- Feeling ‘invaded’ by demands on your time or personal space, wanting to run away, or trying to please others at the expense of your own needs.
- Impacted by an affair, betrayal, bereavement, or ongoing misunderstandings, criticism, or feelings of abandonment.
- Suffering from a negative self-image or self-limiting behaviours which are holding you back.
Whatever you're experiencing or feeling, if it's impacting your mood and mental or physical health, talking it over with a professional can help.
Practice description
I have over 30 years experience in understanding human needs, motivations and behaviours, gained through paid and voluntary work in charities and commercial environments. I am a qualified and experienced counsellor offering help for various problems to adult individuals, couples, and mother/daughter pairs via single sessions and short to long term programmes. I work with people whatever their gender, faith, ethnicity, sexuality, or ability etc. I listen carefully to each client, offering a safe and confidential environment to discuss their concerns, and tailor my approach to each person's individual needs. I am BACP registered and practice my post-qualification counselling within approved standards of proficiency; and I ensure that I keep my skills and knowledge up to date via Continuing Professional Development. My practice is based on a first class BSc (hons) degree in Counselling, a BA(hons) degree in Psychology, degree level qualifications in relationship counselling, and a foundation level certificate in Transactional Analysis. I currently work as a Relate counsellor and with my own clients. I am also an approved practitioner of IAPT Therapy for Depression, and a mother/daughter coach. Additionally, I am a Clinical Supervisor, ensuring that other counsellors work ethically and safely. And I teach counselling at levels 1 to 5. In terms of related experience, I have previously volunteered as a Samaritan, and a Mental Health First Aider, and also offer mentoring services.

About me and my therapy practice
I am offering remote supervision by phone or zoom. Sessions would be 90 minutes' long on a monthly basis or for an hour fortnightly. If you require a different length or frequency, please ask.
I am happy to work with supervisees of similar or different modalities and backgrounds to my own.
I use the Seven-Eyed model of supervision along with the Proctor/Inskipp model and receive ongoing support from my own supervisor.
In my own counselling work, I work with adult individuals and couples. I have previously worked as a counsellor and trainee supervisor - for a national charity, and in private practice. I now work solely in private practice as a counsellor and supervisor. I work with clients from all 'walks of life' and specialise in relationship counselling. I use an integrative approach in my private practice. My main modalities are psychodynamic, systemic, and person-centred, with 'light touch' CBT and TA, plus elements of other approaches as relevant.
I have a first class counselling degree, a psychology degree, a CPCAB endorsed L6 qualification in clinical supervision, L4 and 5 CPCAB endorsed qualifications in relationship counselling, a foundation certificate in Transactional Analysis, and have passed the BACP Certificate of Proficiency. I am an accredited practitioner of IAPT Therapy for Depression and also an accredited mother/daughter relationship coach.
I am committed to Continuing Professional Development, am a registered member of the BACP and currently working towards accreditation. I am also a member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis, and of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
In addition, I teach counselling to trainees at levels 1 to 5.
Please contact me to discuss requirements and options.
