About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Lucy and I run Space to Talk Counselling. I understand that the quest to find the right Counsellor, can be challenging. With so many different styles of therapy, it may feel tricky to know who to choose. I would love to have a chat to see if I am the right one for you.

Are you looking to understand yourself better, make sense of your patterns and cycles and make some changes? Are you looking for a safe space to have a good cry, get angry or just sit whitely along side someone?

Life can leave you  feeling overwhelmed, struggling with low mood, anxiety, feeling sad or depressed? Or maybe feeling stuck, uncertain of your next move and not quite sure what you need from therapy. You may want to work through some un-resolved pain or trauma, sort through some unfinished business or to work out how to navigate something new and current. Perhaps you just need a space to offload, sort through and make sense of your thoughts and feelings? Someone to offer you a cuppa, a box of tissues and to sit and listen to you?

I believe that how we feel is a reflection of our experiences, pain, trauma and difficulties. Counselling can offer you a space to tell your story, to make sense of your experiences and begin to process life’s challenges. I offer a Humanistic Gestalt approach, viewing you as an individual, unique and at the centre of your own therapy. Understanding and self-awareness is the first step in growth, change and moving forward.

There is no criteria, you don’t have to be in crisis, therapy is for anyone who just needs a space to talk.

Practice description

I run Space to Talk Counselling from a cabin in my garden, with private access, in central Eastleigh. There is plenty of parking. I see clients both online and face-to-face. I offer open ended counselling as the right number of sessions vary from client to client, we will evaluate this together as we go along,  to unsure you get what you need from the therapy.

I am very easy going, I promise not to use too much jargon, I have plenty of tissues and I can make you a hot drink each week!

My first session

The first session together is an introduction and assessment and comes with no obligation whatsoever.   I think it’s really important for us to meet, whether it be online or face-to-face, to get to know each other a bit. You need to get a feel for me and the way that I work. That way you are well informed and can make a decision about whether you’d like to give working together a try.

Please do get in touch with any questions or to arrange a free, no-obligation discovery call to discuss how we might work together.
