About me and my therapy practice
I'm an experienced, fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist, working with individuals aged 18 years and over offering a safe and supportive place in which to talk about your difficulties and concerns.
The sessions take place once a week in a private and confidential setting in the centre of Bath where you can begin to explore what might be troubling you, or causing you distress and suffering, or preventing you from experiencing life to the full. Together we can take time to focus on what’s important for you, to try and make sense and understand what may be happening to you and think about the changes you might want to make.
People seek counselling or psychotherapy for a range of emotional difficulties and problems, I've worked with people to help them in areas like:
Feeling anxious or stressed
Feeling sad, depressed or low in mood
Experiencing relationship difficulties with partners or family
Feeling stuck or with a lack of direction or sense of purpose in life
Lacking in confidence and self-esteem
Having difficulties in work or education
Experiencing difficulties sexually
Being troubled by things in one’s past
Suffering loss or bereavement
Being troubled by difficult or uncomfortable thoughts and feelings
Feeling overwhelmed by life
Feeling concerned about growing older.
Practice description
My practice is based in the centre of Bath. within easy reach of Bristol, Frome, Chippenham, Trowbridge and surrounding areas by road and public transport.
There are several car parks in the centre of Bath at The Podium, Broad Street and Charlotte Street all within a few minutes walk of Cheap Street.
If you're coming by train it's a short 10 minute walk from Bath Spa station and any of the town centre buses stop within a few minutes walk.
My first session
I begin with an initial session or sessions to discuss what’s on your mind and how therapy could work for you. In these first sessions we can consider what might be bringing you to therapy and whether we feel we can work together. Research shows that the quality of the relationship between therapist and client has a very important part to play in therapy being effective.
It’s not uncommon to feel anxious or unsure about starting therapy and it can be difficult to know what to expect. If you’re looking for a psychotherapist or counsellor in Bath, please feel free to contact me for an initial, commitment-free conversation to discuss your concerns in confidence.
