About me and my therapy practice
Do you need somebody to help you explore and understand your life in confidence? My style is collaborative and open-minded, and my hope is to help you discover new opportunities to live your life in a more personally meaningful way.
My approach is existential, which does not judge emotional suffering but looks instead at how you uniquely experience the world. I will help you explore your life experience in terms of your relationships; your identity; and your values, choices and sense of purpose.
Whether you come at a time of distress with a particular difficulty, or have reached a stage when you want to deepen your understanding of yourself, I offer a safe and supportive space where you can begin to make sense of whatever is troubling you.
• I am committed to ethical and non-discriminatory practise.
• I offer concessions for counselling and psychotherapy trainees. I currently teach on the foundation module at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling (NSPC)
• I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation by Zoom, Skype or phone.
• I am approved to work with a number of insurance companies - please contact me for details

About me and my therapy practice
I don’t view myself as the ‘expert’ on your client-therapist relationship – how could I be? Rather, I am more interested in supporting you in developing your own unique and authentic relationships with your clients.
Our supervision space is a safe place where I will encourage you to talk freely about your client work, and where I will work with you in an empathetic and collaborative way. My aim is to support you in working to the very best of your personal strengths, as well as developing those areas where you feel less confident, so that your work remains focused and has positive outcomes for you and your clients.
Typically, we will work with the challenges of boundaries, being ‘stuck’, balancing risk, as well as the relational dimensions of transference, countertransference and projective identification.
I will always prioritise the importance of self-care.
ABOUT ME
I am an experienced BACP and UKCP-accredited psychotherapist with over 12 years’ experience working in, among others, the NHS, women and men’s health centres, a hospice, a cancer support service, a bereavement service, a perinatal mental health unit, a training organisation as well as in private practise.
My MA is in Existential Psychotherapy and I have trained in a wide range of modalities, including person-centred and CBT. I will draw on these to offer the best supervision to meet the needs and goals of each supervisee.
I have worked with clients and counsellors with a wide range of presenting issues and from a wide range of backgrounds and modalities. I always strive to offer a non-judgemental, empowering therapeutic environment that is inclusive and culturally sensitive.
As well as offering supervision, and one-to-one and couples therapy, I also teach on the foundation course of a respected Existential training organisation. I work with trainees in a variety of therapeutic orientations, which I love and continue to learn from.
Practice description
I’ve had the privilege of working with many wonderful supervisors over the years, and I really want to pass on that support and learning.
I am committed to encouraging the professional development of trainee and graduate therapists, helping you to deepen your understanding of human dilemmas, to acquire new skills and insights, and to meet the demands of a complex and ever-changing profession.
SUPERVISION GOALS
A safe space to reflect more deeply on your experiences with your clients
A place to ponder your achievements and your challenges
A sounding board for developing critical awareness of your interventions and your process
Somewhere to discuss and develop the application of theory to practise
Support in considering ethical, professional and safeguarding issues
Work with relational dynamics in the therapeutic and supervisory settings
Consider the structure and direction of work
Manage goals, assessment and evaluation in the therapeutic process
My first session
Our first contact will be to establish whether the practicalities will work out – timing, frequency, fees etc. After that we would have a free 20-minute online introductory sessions to see whether we’re a good fit and could work well together. This will be a chance to discuss personal and professional needs and expectations - your caseload, how you practise, your hopes of supervision, any pressing concerns.
