About me and my therapy practice

When looking for support, you may already have a starting point or know what you would like to talk about. Especially if your emotions, thoughts and interactions are affecting your daily activities or those around you.

Alternatively, your thoughts may be unclear or notice that you have been minimising an issue and are beginning to feel overwhelmed.

Regardless of how you came to be here, counselling can help.

My approach to you and my role  is rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgment. I strive to create a professional relationship built on trust and collaboration, where you feel seen, heard, valued and understood. Whatever you bring to session(s) is held and taken at your pace.

My purpose is to provide you with a safe, supportive and confidential environment via telephone or online for you to explore your inner world, heal emotional wounds, discover a greater sense of self, and thrive in relationships. I am deeply passionate about helping you and your relationships navigate life's challenges.

I also understand when working relationally with two people is unique, and how every connection has its own set of dynamics and challenges therefore, my role is to create a validating opportunity where you can openly express your concerns to each other, build on communication and working together.

Practice description

I tailor my approach to meet your pace, specific needs and goals of you and your relationships.

I believe that life events, childhood experiences, past and current interactions, self-reflection and awareness are catalysts to explore, gain insight, build self-esteem, improve intimacy, communication, and the confidence for you to make informed decisions, create choices and look to the future with a positive outlook.

I am deeply committed to creating a non-discriminatory, creative and inclusive therapeutic environment, where individuals and relationships from all backgrounds, abilities and identities feel welcome and respected. I recognise the importance of cultural sensitivity and strive to integrate each your unique and personal experiences into the therapeutic process.

For over 30 years, I have continued to support others through both paid and volunteer work. Previous roles have included coaching, mentoring and training, for individuals and groups within the private and voluntary sectors.
