About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Lucy and I help people over 18 who are struggling after a bereavement or a non-person loss of something important to them such as a job or relationship, and the difficulties these life-changing losses can generate. I also help people who are struggling with feelings of anxiety, depression or stress.
All of these things affect different people in different ways so I offer help and support which is tailored to what you feel works best for you.
Although things may be difficult right now and it might be hard to see a way through what's happened, with help it really can get better. I won't be able to give you specific advice or tell you what to do as I believe in your ability to find your own path and your own answers but will instead work with you to help you find them, one session at a time
Practice description
I offer a caring, supportive and confidential space where we can work through the things that matter to you and explore different perspectives and new strategies to help you heal, move forward and feel well again. I can work in a number of different ways so that our sessions are always tailored to suit your needs and individual preferences
From my own experience, I know how daunting it can sometimes be to reach out for help, particularly if you’ve never had counselling before, so we will only ever work in a way that feels right for you and at a speed that feels safe and comfortable.
About Me
I have been counselling since 2018, first as a placement counsellor as part of my training and after I qualified as a counsellor in 2020. In addition to my private practice, I have worked in hospices and a cancer charity as a counsellor and in GP surgeries as a Health and Wellbeing Coach.
Qualifications
Advanced Diploma in Intergrative Counselling
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Level 5
Certificate in Person Centred Creative Art Counselling
Mindfulness Practioner Certificate
Counselling Children and Young People (8-18 years)
My first session
Finding a counsellor who you feel is the right “fit” for you is one of the most important things in counselling so I offer an initial 30-minute telephone session which is completely free so you can see how you feel about us working together.
On receipt of your enquiry, I will telephone or email you so we can arrange a date and time for the call where we will talk about what you’d like help with and the different ways I can support you. If you’d like us to work together, we will then arrange our first session which can be in person, telephone or online. I also offer walk and talk appointments subject to availability and weather conditions.
