About me and my therapy practice
Choosing a therapist can be a tricky task. Not least because we often look for therapeutic support when we are going through something difficult in our lives. I am always happy to have a free initial conversation via Zoom, so that you have an opportunity to decide if you think I am the right counsellor for you.
I work with individuals and with couples. The reasons people come to see me are wide ranging and diverse; stress, infidelity, trust issues, questions around meaning/purpose, anxiety and bereavement or other loss are some of them.
If you are a couple I can provide a space to make yourselves heard and understood. Taking conflicts into a neutral and supportive space has helped many couples find a way forward that works for both parties. If you are an individual I will support you and help you as you explore the issues as you experience them. I do not judge and my only motive is your well being.
I utilise theory and practices from humanistic, relational and existential therapeutic models. I believe that we can gain valuable insights about ourselves by exploring how we manage relationships with others; the good and the bad and all the ones in between.
I am trained as a person centred psychotherapist, which means that my methods are inherently client led. I will work with you without agenda and without judgement, on whatever issues are important to you.
Practice description
I offer individual and couples therapy, either face to face or remotely via Zoom. Individual sessions are generally 50 mins long and couples sessions 60 mins, but longer or shorter sessions can be arranged depending on your needs and my availability.
My session fees are £70(individuals) and £85 (couples).
I work Tuesday-Friday and a limited number of Saturday session are available.
My first session
If you think therapy may be helpful for you, don't hesitate to get in touch. I am always happy to talk through how I work so that you can make an informed decision about us working together. The therapeutic relationship is very personal, and it’s important that it feels right.
My practice is based in Princes Square in Harrogate town centre, a short walk from the train and bus stations. There is plenty of parking, at town centre rates, near the practice. I am also experienced at working remotely via Zoom.
In our first session I will invite you to share your reasons for seeking some support. You decide how much you want to say and what you want us to focus on.
