About me and my therapy practice
I have come to an understanding that everything one experiences in his or her life, is based on how they view themselves, how they view others and the world around them. Interactions and decision-making are dependent on how strong is a person's self-belief and self-worth.
By identifying the root causes of any presenting issues, investigating their personality development and coping mechanisms, I work with them to view themselves, people around them, and the wider world in a positive light by evaluating their attitudes and approaches.
Practice description
By creating a comfortable space for clients to feel significant and valued, I try to understand how my client thinks and feels by effectively listening to their disclosure. With a firm belief that each one of us has the entitlement to be happy and have the potential to achieve a positive outcome of whatever seems to be troubling us, I work with my client to re-evaluating their thinking processes and coping mechanisms. With periodic appraisals of therapy with my client, we evaluate how the client is finding the therapeutic process and whether the sessions are meeting their needs.
My first session
Welcoming my client with warmth, I ensure that they have a feeling that I am here to listen to them, attentively and non-judgementally. Ensuring that confidentiality will be maintained, I ensure that my client feels comfortable and safe in a secure talking space. I endeavour to make my client feel that I am willing to listen to them no matter how insignificant their issue is. And no matter how self-loathing a client feels, I endeavor to help them reason with their learned behaviours.
