About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person Centred Integrative therapist. I work from a non-judgemental perspective, taking your life experiences into consideration. I work with you as a whole person, not just the issues you bring to therapy.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked with victims of domestic abuse and did community support work for over twenty four years. I helped and supported people with issues such as grief and loss, abuse, discrimination, poverty, health concerns, anxiety, depression, addiction, cultural and religious issues, racism, issues about parenting, relationship difficulties, childhood problems.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2020 and I work mainly as a Person-Centred and integrative counsellor. I believe it is important that the client feels safe, listened to and valued within the process of therapy. My theoretical approach includes using Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, Islamic based and faith-based counselling.
Practice description
I work online/video call/ telephone or home visits in Manchester. I also do walk and talk therapy. I offer a free 15 minute initial consultation so we can discuss the therapy together, answer any questions you might have and generally see if we are a good fit to work together. I have worked with people who have been feeling stuck in their lives for various reasons, or have been experiencing low mood, loss, grief, or want to move on from the issues they have been carrying with them for many years. The people I have worked with have wanted to move on from their past and present issues and lead a more resilient, fulfilling life. If this resonates with you, then get in touch and we can work together to support you to move forward in life.
My first session
In our first session I will take some essential details from you which form a part of the initial assessment. This is in line with confidentiality, safeguarding and good practice guidelines. This will only form the first ten to fifteen minutes of the first session and then we will continue into the first session of your therapy.
