About me and my therapy practice
My approach as an art psychotherapist, registered with HCPC, is to work collaboratively with you, seeking to understand, to explore and reflect on whatever is difficult in your life. Deciding to engage in therapy can be a challenging but rewarding process, I bring warmth and openness to my work and respect my client’s courage to talk about what is painful.
I have over 13 years’ experience working as therapist with a range of different client groups in the NHS, schools, forensics, adoption and youth offending services. I am experienced in completing assessments, delivering short-term and long-term therapeutic support in key evidence-based therapeutic modalities. I work with adults, children, young people and families.
Practice description
I deliver interventions in the following areas depending on your needs and abilities:
Art Psychotherapy,
Systemic Family Therapy,
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT),
Therapeutic Parenting,
Children Accelerated Trauma Treatment (CATT)
Clinical supervision for other therapists
I deliver individual, parent/child and family group sessions face-to-face and online. My clients report progress and reliable change in their goals for therapy, we use the Goal Based Outcomes measure (GBO) tool. In addition to my private practice, I undertake work with the NHS, local authorities, educational institutions, the voluntary sector and corporate organisations.
My first session
In the first session, I will tell more about my work and will for more information around what is going on for you. The conversation will focus on what you need to change and how we can work together to make those changes. I will ask you to complete some questionnaires to help me understand how to help you.
