About me and my therapy practice
The focus of my practice is supporting young people (minimum age 15 yrs) and adults, in particular Neurodivergent people, in navigating and challenging the often bewildering worlds of education, relationships and work.
For me therapy is all about developing self-acceptance and awareness. This only happens if you can trust and connect with your therapist; I do this by providing a safe, confidential, knowledgeable and calm space away from the busy world.
Yes I work the standard 50 minute therapy session model, either in person and online but some of my clients need something different due to various reasons. Therefore I also work outside, walking with clients and their assistant dogs through the woods near me. I have also had sessions in my therapy room at home where assistance dogs have attended. I have also, where needed/appropriate, met with clients in venues other than my usual therapy venues.
As a Speech & Language Therapist I’m also very familiar with and understanding of the speech and language challenges that can accompany neurodivergent ways of beings. Such as selective mutism, DLD, verbal dyspraxia, stammer, word finding difficulties, memory and information processing.
People mostly use my nickname, which is Track.
