About me and my therapy practice
Our health and wellbeing come from having meaningful and satisfying relationships with others and ourselves, and from being able to process and come to terms with what is going on in our lives. By understanding and uncovering what is causing us to feel anxious or depressed, and by getting to know ourselves better, we can feel more empowered and in control of our lives.
When we are not in tune with ourselves we may be feeling low or worry about things excessively. Some people turn to alcohol and drugs to handle things that they are struggling with. Others develop an unhealthy relationship with work ,food or exercise or eating disorders such as bulimia or anorexia. Or maybe you experience anger issues, or feelings of low worth and self-hatred, originating from trauma from childhood. Whatever it is, talking about it can help you get perspective and a better understanding of what is going on, and help you develop a healthier relationship to yourself and to others. Through therapy you can become more at peace with who you are and why you feel the way you feel.
I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor working in private practice. I am open-minded and non-judgemental in my approach and I’m always aiming to create a safe space for my clients to explore and work through what has brought them to therapy. I am interested in how experiences in our past impact on our present life. I also pay attention to our unconscious and how it shapes and informs our behaviour, motivations and relationship patterns.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their ethical guidelines.
I am an approved provider for BUPA, AXA PPP Healthcare, WPA and Aviva.
