About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling lost, anxious, stressed or low? Are your feelings or thoughts troubling you and impacting on your relationships and quality of life? Maybe you are struggling with low self-worth or a general feeling that your life is unmanageable. I support individuals and couples from all walks of life coping with a variety of life stressors, exploring thoughts, feelings and behaviours so that you arrive at a more accurate understanding of yourself. This empowers you to make choices that will enable you to live your life in a way that is meaningful to you. New possibilities for behaving and relating are opened up and positively impact resilience and choice. In addition to being accredited by the BACP, I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP). I have trained extensively around anxiety and depression so I can offer you the most up-to-date interventions and understanding to help you address the impairments that you might be experiencing as a result of these issues. I hold further certifications in DBT and working with complex trauma.
Practice description
I understand that starting the process of attending therapy can be daunting which is why I ensure you are fully supported, accepted and free to express a full range of feelings where you can feel truly heard and validated. Collaboration is at the heart of each session, underpinned by trust, authentic acceptance and my respect for you as a unique individual. In the context of this relationship we can grow an understanding of how your experiences and history influence your life, often in unsuspecting ways and how to move in the best direction for you. Whether you are looking for sustained change, deeper understanding or solutions to current difficulties, I am here to help.
My first session
I understand the importance of finding the right therapist so I offer a free initial 20 minute telephone consultation where we can explore what you would like to gain from counselling and how we can work together. Our first session is always about getting to know each other and painting a better picture of your therapeutic needs. From there, each session is customised around your needs and goals to help you optimise your sessions. Please leave your contact telephone number when you submit an initial enquiry as sometimes my email replies are sent to spam. I always send a confirmation text when I have replied to you. Thank you.

I understand it is important for you to find the right therapist, therefore I offer a free 20 minute introductory session so that we can discuss your needs and what you would like to gain from therapy, address any questions or concerns you may have and establish if we connect enough and feel comfortable together to proceed. I only offer interventions and modalities that I am properly trained in, so that I practice within my sphere of competence. If I feel that a different modality would better suit your presenting issue, I will advise you of this during the initial session.

About me and my therapy practice
Supervision is an integral part of working ethically and effectively as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I believe in creating a safe, supportive supervisory environment where you can explore and develop your practice and achieve your professional goals.
My approach is to primarily provide the safety you need to bring what you really need to bring without fear of judgement, so that you can grown and learn, not just as a professional but as an individual. I want your supervision be a place of support, learning, growth and challenge, where all of your work can be brought and reflected on.
Practice description
In my supervision practice, I work using the seven eyed model of supervision which provides many effective angles of how we approach your supervision together so that you gain maximum benefit from the process. It also enables me to offer supervision for many different modalites as it has an expansive perspective that transcends specific modalities to encompass everything that is occuring in the therapeutic space.
I am a professionally qualified counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor. My core training is psychodynamic but since qualifying have trained extensively in trauma interventions and use an integrative approach. I specialise in working with anxiety, depression, relational challenges, trauma and neurodiversity. I established my private practice in 2019 and prior to that gained experience working with bereavement and domestic abuse.
I offer a free initial 20 minute consultation to talk through the different option available to you and I would encourage you to think about the personal qualities you would want from your supervisor. I offer online sessions in addition to providing face-to-face sessions from my office in Chesterfield.
Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to know more about how I work and what I have to offer you.
