About me and my therapy practice
The holiday season can be overwhelming, especially when you're navigating loss or major life transitions. As we enter into December, it's natural to feel anxious about how to cope with the emotions that often arise during Christmas.
I’m Sarah, and I specialise in supporting women through grief, loss, and life changes.
Grief can feel especially intense during the holidays, whether it's your first Christmas without a loved one or many years after their passing. For those facing broken relationships or estrangement, the pain may feel heightened at this time of year. If you're living with chronic or terminal illness, the loss of health can make Christmas particularly challenging. Whatever emotions you're experiencing, sadness, anger, or anything else that the season brings up, please know this is normal and you are not alone this Christmas.
Major life transitions, such as motherhood, divorce, or changes in your body like fertility struggles, pregnancy, miscarriage, or shifts related to perimenopause and menopause, can also trigger a loss of identity. These transitions can deeply affect your sense of self, and when they go unrecognised, they may lead to feelings of disconnection, anxiety, or even physical symptoms.
Grief is not only about what we've lost, but also about what we longed for but never had, whether in our health, relationships, or other areas of life. My goal is to create a safe space where every part of you, past and present, can be acknowledged, processed, and supported.
If you’re navigating loss or life changes, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can explore a path forward.
Practice description
As an integrative therapist, I weave different branches of psychotherapeutic theories together to meet your needs, mostly informed by Psychodynamic (exploring the impact of early childhood on adult life) and Person-Centred modalities (the belief we can grow in a supportive and compassionate environment).
I work at a pace and depth that is appropriate for you and may offer holistic practices such as guided visualisations and other grounding techniques to help integrate the work, reduce overwhelm, and provide deeper insight.
Above all, I believe in building a connection that is respectful and collaborative. This is about your unique journey. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, cultures and sexual orientations.
My first session
I offer an initial consultation at a reduced rate of £40, my fees thereafter are £70 per session.
In your consultation we look at what has brought you to therapy, and how we can find a way forward to support you. I can also answer any questions you may have.
If we decide to work together your sessions will be at the same time each week. We can agree to a fixed series of sessions, or leave it open for the longer-term, and we'll have regular check-ins to make sure you are getting what you need.
I support women throughout the UK online via zoom, or in person from my therapy room in Margate, Kent.
