Have you been struggling with depression and anxiety? Do you feel your life has become stuck in repeating behaviours that are affecting your life? Have you been struggling with your relationships? Perhaps you would like to explore your thoughts and feelings in a warm and secure environment.
Starting counselling or psychotherapy is a big step and finding a therapist who feels right for you is important.
Counselling is about finding a safe and containing space to explore together whatever is concerning you. It is a chance to work collaboratively to make sense of painful or difficult feelings, and from there to make a change.
I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist offering short-term and open-ended therapy (ongoing). I work using a psychodynamic approach, which means we will explore links between your past and present bringing a deeper understanding of some of the roots of your difficulties not just the symptoms.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy can help you to make lasting changes to your relationships and emotional well-being. It brings awareness and understanding to the issues you are struggling with, to understand why you feel the way you do, or why relationships have taken a particular form.
With greater self-awareness comes more satisfying ways of being and relating. It can also help with sudden challenges in life such as loss and bereavement.
