About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist based in East London.

I work in private practice full-time and previously worked for many years within the NHS as an Honorary Psychotherapist. I additionally hold an MA in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice from Roehampton University and regularly undertake various forms of professional development.

All of this combined enables me to work with clinical expertise whilst being aware of current developments within the field of psychological therapies.

Practice description

The type of therapy I offer helps people to explore their problems and work through them in a supportive way.

I provide a safe, confidential, professional, environment where we can meet each week to explore and work together on the things that are causing you concern.

In my practice I welcome anyone who wants to develop greater self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of their relationships with others.

People seek therapy for many different issues. Sometimes there is a very specific reason (such as the end of a relationship, a bereavement, a traumatic experience, some kind of significant life event/change). At other times the cause of a persons distress can be less apparent (such as a generalised feeling of anxiety, sadness, or emptiness).

At the enquiry stage, I offer a free, informal, conversation by phone to explore your situation, get a feel for what it will be like to work together, and answer any questions you have.

The next stage would be to formally book a preliminary session, usually one or two.

These preliminary sessions are an opportunity to meet each other, think about what you want to get out of therapy, and help us decide if I’m the right therapist for you to be working with.

There is no commitment to ongoing work at this stage. If we decide to continue working together, following any initial appointment(s), we would meet in-person at my consulting room in Haggerston on a specific day and time each week.

I also offer the opportunity to work remotely via phone or video call, depending on your circumstances.

We can work together for a fixed amount of time or on an open-ended basis, depending on what we mutually agree will be most helpful.

If you would like to explore how psychotherapy could help you, please get in touch for an initial conversation.
