About me and my therapy practice

There are times when we may need to reflect on our lives or specific aspects of them. Starting counseling can be a crucial step in helping you reconnect with yourself and gain clarity.

I am here to offer a supportive and person-centred approach, ensuring that you are at the heart of our sessions. Together, we can explore where you currently are and what you might need or want to understand about any concerns or challenges you’re facing.

As a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Practitioner, I can help you use CBT to work on any goals you set for yourself and assist you in maintaining progress. Additionally, we can integrate elements from other therapeutic approaches to enhance our work and address your unique needs.

We can work together to explore your feelings and any changes you may or may not be ready to make, whether it’s learning or unlearning certain habits or mindsets. It’s important that you feel heard and cared for throughout this process.

If you’re struggling with feelings of anxiety or depression, I’m here to listen and offer support in understanding your experiences. Sometimes, simply talking through issues—whether related to work, social challenges, or personal stress—can help alleviate stress and shift unhelpful thought patterns.

I have a deep passion for supporting individuals who are navigating experiences of loss, whether it's the death of a loved one, the loss of freedom due to caregiving, the end of a job, or the dissolution of a relationship. Such losses can often lead to feelings of sadness, anxiety, and isolation. Counseling can provide an opportunity to better understand what you're going through and offer a safe space to process these emotions and challenges.

Practice description

I currently offer online and telephone counselling.

My approach is integrative. Based in person-centred therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with aspects of Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis.

Sessions can be flexible, short-term or long-term.

Our therapeutic relationship can develop steadily from the comfort of your own home or an appropriate place which supports your privacy and safety.

Depending on all the circumstances, we can build a confidential, warm and safe space together as we work through what has been on your mind.

My first session

In our first session, we will begin with an initial assessment to understand any issues or concerns you’re currently facing. I’ll gather some background information to gain a better understanding of your experiences, which will take about 30 minutes. Subsequent sessions will be 50 minutes.

During this time, we can also discuss whether continuing to develop a therapeutic relationship feels right for both of us. I look forward to connecting with you soon.

I offer a free 20-minute consultation call where you can ask any questions about my counseling practice. There’s no obligation to commit to therapy after this call. However, if you choose to move forward, we will schedule a full assessment to determine your counseling needs. If you decide to begin counseling after the assessment, we will then formalize our work together with a contractual agreement.

In our first contracted session, we will start to gently explore the areas identified during the assessment, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My primary goal is to build a trusting, supportive relationship, so that we can explore your challenges together in a relaxed and open manner.
