About me and my therapy practice
I am the Director of Mental Health for the Cambridge Medical Academy (Cambridge University), where I train a global network of doctors and nurses in mental health. I am the Executive Director of the specialist Psychology Service at Grant Thornton UK LLP, where I deliver a bespoke psychological service to their Partners.
I am a Psychotherapist with extensive NHS experience within specialist psychology services. I am trained in a wide range of modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy and Neuropsychology. I am trained in specialist trauma modalities including Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Narrative Exposure Therapy. I have taken advanced training in Positive Psychology Coaching.
I am also a consultant to CiC Global Wellbeing where I provide trauma-based psychological interventions for people exposed to trauma in their professional roles, such as war correspondents and photographers.
I sit on a number of international Boards where I advise on mental health service design. I was a guest lecturer at Southampton University teaching the Phd and MSc Psychology students in distinct areas of psychology for 5 years.
I work with a broad range of psychological problems and difficulties over video call.

Practice description
I have been trained in CBT, Systemic Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness and trauma focused CBT. I build strong, impactful therapeutic relationships. Many patients I support have suffered with chronic anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, OCD, trauma, suicidal thoughts, addiction and physical and psychological pain. I use a range of psychological techniques resulting in a high recovery rate, enabling patients to achieve lasting, positive change. Please contact my PA regarding appointments.
I have in-depth clinical knowledge of how to manage complex psychological conditions and where required, work in conjunction with my patient's GP and a range of other health professionals to manage their care.
My approach is designed to enable my patients to become fully capable of managing their own emotional distress without having to rely on psychological services long term.
My first session
Feeling overwhelmed with emotions such as sadness, anxiety, anger and guilt can be extremely difficult to cope with and can have significant effects on your capability and relationships with others. If you are struggling to cope and and doing things that are damaging to yourself, your future and others, you are not alone and it is important that you access the right support to ensure that you can begin to get better.
I will work with you to help you describe how you are feeling and make sense of what is happening to you. You will be supported with kindness and empathy but you will also be challenged when you are ready, so that you can begin to take control of your problems and make different decisions in your life that lead to better outcomes.
I am also trained in a number of other psychological modalities and adjust my approach to treatment based on the needs of the individual I am working with.
