About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and a UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist & Certified Transactional Analyst. I also hold a Certificate in Couples' Counselling. I work in private practice in Chiswick, offering both face to face and online, couples' counselling, individual counselling and psychotherapy.
I believe we are all influenced by factors in the past as well as the present, and gaining an insight into patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours can help us to be more resilient when dealing with current difficulties and to embrace new challenges.
Through establishing a warm, collaborative relationship, I can support you to reflect on whatever issues you are facing. By working together, we can begin a process of change.
Some people come with very specific issues, while for others, something just doesn't feel right; they may feel stuck or they may just want to understand themselves better to realise their full potential. I offer a safe, non-judgemental, confidential space in which, together, we can explore whatever you bring.
In addition to my experience in a number of areas of psychotherapy, my previous background as a Director of Public Affairs in a fast-paced corporate environment, gives me an insight into many of the challenges in the workplace.
Practice description
I work with individuals and couples from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. I am experienced in working therapeutically both long and short term, in a number of areas including:
- anxiety
- depression
- trauma
- loss
- relationship difficulties
- grief
- self-esteem
I work predominantly using Relational Transactional Analysis, though my approach is flexible and integrative, drawing on other approaches to suit each individual client.
I belong to the BACP, UKCP, Metanoia Institute, EATA and IARTA and am bound by their ethical codes of practice.
My first session
In the first session am keen to understand what the client is looking for from therapy and why now? It is an opportunity for potential clients to ask any questions about how I work, so that we can establish whether we can work together. I view the first 6 sessions as an extended assessment, so we can review our work at that point and make any adjustments that might be needed.
To find out more about how I might be able to help you, or to book an initial session, please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
