About me and my therapy practice
I am a BACP registered therapist specialising in working with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, loss and substance addiction.
My philosophy is holistic, I believe it is important to see you as a whole person, working with your body, mind, emotions and spirit. By using different approaches, I will help you become more aware of what is going on in your lived experience and patterns of behaviour that have brought you to where you are today. Together we will help you to understand yourself better and to recognise changes to be made to help you find a more positive balance.
Sometimes we can struggle with life’s experiences, with life feeling harder or more complicated than usual and this can overwhelm our thoughts and feelings. We can sometimes struggle to cope with our fears and emotions, especially during these stressful and challenging times. Anxiety and depression over time can cause us to doubt ourselves more than usual, further increasing our worry and anxiety. Perhaps you no longer have any sense of motivation and enthusiasm for tasks and social situations, or you possibly have lost your sense of self and who you are and you feel yourself withdrawing and alone. If any of these feelings resonate with you, then counselling with myself may help alleviate some of those feelings and help you build towards a more positive mental wellbeing.
Practice description
I have a varied background in working with both adults and young people and my counselling experience has also involved me working both with people living with or having experienced sexual abuse, trauma and domestic violence whilst working within a sexual assault and abuse organisation. I have also worked with adults and children living through bereavement, loss and grief within a national charity for bereaved people. Through these experiences and my holistic approach, I feel that I am able to provide a compassionate and safe space that will allow you to process any difficult life experience or trauma.

I offer a free 30-minute initial video or phone consultation, giving us the opportunity to discuss how we can work together and for you to decide if I am the right therapist for you.
