About me and my therapy practice
Therapy is a two way process of a relationship and I see the work in our sessions as a collaborative process between us, which means working with your needs and experiences and working at a pace that is appropriate for you. At the moment I offer secure online sessions and/or outdoor nature-based counselling at a private retreat.
I am committed to providing a confidential, non-judgemental safe space to help everyone process and understand the emotional and psychological difficulties that may be causing you distress.
I believe that our therapeutic relationship will be an important agent of healing and change and I will work with you in the present tense, a place where you can explore the past, realise its impact on today and consider your future expectations and possibilities.
Through my unique nature therapy sessions, I invite individuals to come on a journey with nature that takes them from feeling overwhelmed in their everyday life to feeling calm, tranquil and better able to cope with the world.
There is a growing body of research which highlights the positive benefits on mental well-being from re-connecting with nature.
I wholeheartedly believe in the beneficial effects of nature’s power, not only from the beauty that can be observed, but from the possibility of making a true sensory experience available to individuals.
Nature’s soothing capacity can facilitate an opportunity to reflect more deeply on ourselves and our lives - a fundamental component for positive transformation.
Everyone is entitled to lead a stress-free and happy life. Support through the counselling process can help you to achieve this and I invite you to contact me either by email or telephone for an initial free-of-charge chat.
Practice description
My clinical face-to-face sessions are held at my discrete and peaceful south-west facing therapy room in the village Brill, Buckinghamshire. For my face-to-face nature therapy sessions, clients are invited to my private tranquil retreat at Clue Hill Farm, near Brill, where there is a pond, woods and hay meadows. Both venues have toilet facilities and car parking, although the nature therapy venue is only recommended for clients who are able to walk unaided.
During the period of Covid-19 sessions are only offered via the telephone for talking only, or face-to-face via a device through Whatsapp, Zoom, or similar secure secure means.
My first session
Our first session is an exploration, more an informal chat, between us. It is about why you have contacted me, what you would like achieve through your sessions and how you would like explore what arises. There is no particular plan for this first meeting, as it is just important to 'go with the flow' on the day, depending upon how much, or how little you would like to talk about.
As the session develops, we will be able to identify together what is most important to you and use this as our starting point from which to continue with further sessions.
