About me and my therapy practice
My work as a Child and Young Persons Integrative Therapist (7 - 26 yrs) is an attachment focused, trauma informed, relational and creatively based specialism for children and young adults in difficulty . I really understand that some children and young adults can have big feelings or emotional experiences that are impacting their capacity to thrive as they once did. Alongside this, changing behaviour can seem confusing, challenging or ' out of sync' with siblings, family members or the relational environment of education.
I seek to build relationships that meet children or young people from where there they are today and specifically so - taking in and responding to their developmental, emotional and relational needs in an inclusive way. I can offer child and young adults therapeutic interventions that integrate aspects of; talk therapy, creativity (drawing and image making) play therapy and age appropriate psycho education about stress, our brains and our survival responses to fear and safety. Any offering is always an invite and never a must or should.
Children and young adults are invited to express whatever is important to them. Sessions travel at a clients pace, working with strengths, rather than against them. The trust and respect and co collaboration of sessions is central to the healing and change based process that therapy can provide in critical phases of growing up and growing with our challenges.
