About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Hannah and I am a fully qualified humanistic therapist. My training is based in person-centred practice, which means at the core of my practice is the belief that each individual is the expert on themselves and has the capacity to grow and heal when provided with a safe, non-judgemental space.
I have worked as a psychotherapist for the NHS for a number of years, as well as in school settings and voluntarily for charities such as Wellspring and Samaritans.
I work by listening to your story, acknowledging and exploring emotions, and encouraging you to reflect and ask questions. My aim is to hold a safe space for you to process sometimes difficult feelings and for us to gain a greater understanding of how your past affects your present, allowing you to make small but powerful shifts towards a better relationship with yourself and the world.
My own lived experience and empathic outlook means that it's important to me that this is a space for you to be yourself and that means a complete welcoming of all diversities. I have lived and professional experience of connecting with neurodiverse, LGBTQ+ and cultural and ethnic minorities and acceptance and compassion are at the heart of my practice.
I am BACP and IPTUK accredited.
Practice description
People reach out for therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with your mental health at the moment, or may be feeling stuck and need support finding shifts in your personal growth. Whether you are going through a particularly tough time, are feeling stuck, need help to process something or just find regular therapy helps you to make the most out of life, you are so welcome here.
In therapy together, we will make space and time to process your story; look at relationship patterns and internal dynamics, where they've come from and whether those patterns and dynamics are helping you now; explore anything keeping you stuck and look at ways to help you move past those barriers.
Because I work in a person-centred way, I will work with you to build our therapy sessions around your needs - whether that's space to feel or some more challenge.
My first session
I offer a first 30 minute session at £35. This is an opportunity to introduce ourselves and for you to get a feel for whether working with me is the right fit for you - there is absolutely no judgement on this and I recommend you take a little time after the first session to think about it and then come back to me to let me know whether you'd like to set up regular sessions.
In this first session, I will tell you a little more about what to expect from therapy with me, including boundaries such as confidentiality and cancellations and invite you to tell me a little about what's brought you to therapy.
