About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, working with individuals from 13 years of age. I work without judgement, creating a safe place where clients will be valued, listened to and understood. I offer a space where together we can try and make some sense of what has brought you here.
My style is relational in that I will engage with you and be curious in how our relating informs our work together, very much a collaborative approach. I remember how difficult I felt talking about deeply personal things with someone I did not know initially.
As well as my private practise I work with a local charity for a women's and men's refuge. I also have extensive experience working with adolescents through independent school contracts.
You are welcome to a get in touch at any time, either to book an initial session or if you have any questions please just email or telephone me.
Practice description
My therapeutic style is primarily relational and integrative, working from a person centred approach with integration of theories guiding the therapeutic direction. This means that the work is tailored to each client uniquely. Ultimately I see the work as creating a completely respectful and sacred space. I am passionate about creating wellness and a healthy mind and body connection.
My priority is to provide a supportive and authentic relationship that will offer space and trust for honest exploration without judgement. Together we will try to resolve your problems. This might mean gaining more understanding of how your past has shaped your present, changing repeated patterns of thinking can offer the opportunity to heal and move forward.
My job is to listen and stay alongside you in the work. Through exploring and reflection together, we make sense of what might be causing unhappiness, moving toward a greater sense of understanding yourself and ultimately peace.
I hold Carl Jung in particular regard and love his quote 'we cannot change anything unless we accept it'.
My first session
