Availability

My availability changes on a regular basis so please do contact me if you are interested in an initial call.

The initial call lasts up to 30 minutes, is free of charge and is a chance for us to see whether we both feel we could work well together.

After the call I invite potential clients who are interested in starting sessions with me to email to confirm this.

Sessions take place online or in person in Wimbledon on every weekday and in the evening on Mondays to Thursdays.

Sessions cost £75 and I ask clients to pay me by bank transfer after each session.

I provide notice of any planned holidays well in advance to existing clients so that we can work to minimise any disruption it might cause.

About me and my therapy practice

I help people with a broad range of difficulties, and have particular experience in relationship problems, anxiety, trauma, CPTSD, dissociation, bereavement, terminal or chronic illnesses, addictions, infertility, the effects of the narcissistic and borderline behaviours of others, and adult ADHD.

My therapy approach is existential - paying attention to the client as a whole person, rather than a cluster of symptoms. To do this I work with you to understand your experience of the world, and uncover hidden feelings which are preventing you from living as your authentic self.

By reflecting and exploring difficult and troubling feelings and experiences I can help guide you through to a place where you can decide what to accept and what to change in order to move forwards in a more knowing manner.

I have many years' experience of providing counselling and psychotherapy for young people and adults in a variety of settings, and I now work in private practice seeing adults only.

Before setting up in private practice I worked as a counsellor and psychotherapist in a variety of settings - Wimbledon Guild Talking Therapies; Balham Community Counselling Service; Guildford College counselling service and ChildLine.

Prior to being a psychotherapist I worked in the City for 20 years and so have a good understanding of the stresses of working in such high pressure environments.

Practice description

I work in private practice from my home and online. Sessions held in person take place in a specialised therapy room which provides an inviting and relaxing environment designed to enable clients to feel safe and secure.

All online sessions are currently held on Microsoft Teams which is free to access and provides a safe, encrypted platform to ensure online confidentiality. I send individual meeting links for every session to ensure they are successfully received by my clients and I offer the possibility to move between online and in person sessions to fit in with changes taking place in my clients' lives on a weekly basis.

Sessions are offered on an open ended basis so that we can discuss how therapy is proceeding and either continue or agree to finish depending on the client's aims and goals. Clients are also welcome to do blocks of sessions at different times to work on different issues and so I have a high proportion of clients who return when they wish to discuss additional aspects of their world.

My first session

An initial phone call is offered whenever I have availability for new clients, and if following the call a new client confirms they are interested in starting therapy we agree a regular slot for sessions.

Following that first call individual sessions can be focused on whatever topic a client wishes as my approach means that all types of discussions help me to get to know my client and start to offer reflections which may assist the process of exploration.

Therapy is offered on an open-ended basis so any particular length of piece of work is possible and clients are able to decide how far they wish to proceed. It is therefore possible to cover different areas of difficulty at different times if that suits the client.
