About me and my therapy practice
With a background in both Psychology and Counselling, I have been immersed in offering psychological therapeutic support to different communities almost all my adult life. This has included supporting families through illness and loss, working with University students and counselling individuals with a history of complex trauma.
I am passionate about combining my own personal experiences, my accumulated knowledge, and specific training in Psychology, Psychological Trauma and Person-Centred Counselling, to offer you a compassionate and safe therapeutic space to explore your own experiences in a way that best suits your unique needs.
I, too, have felt the huge benefit of accessing a safe therapeutic space. Through acknowledging my own personal struggles, my life has truly been transformed. This has helped me to gain valuable insight into the power of a mutual, trusting therapeutic relationship.
My PhD in Psychological Trauma, gained through my ongoing love for learning, enables me to cultivate my passion for putting traditional and more contemporary psychological theories into practice within my therapy sessions. You can be assured of a safe, reflective, respectful and non-judgemental presence, to allow you to grapple with and explore your own life experiences as we travel together along your path, side by side.

About me and my therapy practice
I consider accessing my own clinical supervision as a highlight in my work calendar. I come to this space knowing that I will be accepted and heard.
This is also a space where I can freely explore, critically reflect, be challenged and experience growth, both personally and professionally. Within this space, there is trust, vulnerability, modelling and shared learning.
Because of this space, I can ensure that, when I am with my clients, I can offer them their own space where I am fully prepared and present, giving them my full attention.
As such, in my own role as clinical supervisor, my desire is that this space is also the highlight of your work calendar where you, too, can savour the allotted time to ensure your own satisfaction, nourishment, growth and ethical accountability within your practitioner role.
Practice description
I base my supervision practice on Page and Wosket’s cyclical model in collaboration with Carroll’s way of working. I adhere to BACP’s ethical framework, treating it as a current working document and a regular reference point in sessions for debate, deliberation and accountability in order to apply ethical decision making.
My primary counselling modality is person-centred although I have an integrative approach. My background in both Psychology (PhD in Psychological Trauma) and Counselling allows me to put traditional and more contemporary psychological theories into practice within my sessions.
My fees are £50.00 for 1 hour. Concessionary rates are available for trainees.
My first session
I offer an initial session of 30 minutes free of charge (face-to-face or via zoom) to give you an opportunity to ask any questions about what to expect and to gauge whether you feel we could develop a good working alliance that will meet your specific needs. I will also take you through my supervision contract which explains my way of working that sits within the BACP ethical framework so that you can be assured of a professional and quality service that puts you and your clients at the centre of each session.
