About me and my therapy practice
Hi hello there, my name is Jaime , thank you for visiting my profile.
I believe each one of us is individual and unique, and my approach reflects this, by working in an integrative way means I am able to meet you the client exactly where you are at.
I offer counselling for children, young people and adults. I work with a range of Therapeutic approaches including but not limited to Talking therapy, creativity for therapy , Play therapy using nature and sand tray work.
I currently work in primary and secondary schools. Providing a counselling service for students, staff and parents. I have over 30 years experience of working with Children and families in educational settings and the wider community in a range of related roles.
I hold a full DBS check to reassure parents of children and vulnerable adults.
Practice description
My work space is reflective of my approach and I have a therapy suite that is dedicated to providing a safe welcoming environment where children, young people and adults can feel heard and recognise themselves and begin to address their own needs and emotional difficulties.
I have understanding and experience of supporting a neurodivergent client base.
My first session
During the first session we will have an opportunity to get a better understanding of each other and make sense of what has brought you or your child to Therapy and what you would like to work on.
Each inital session will last up to 90 mins, however you will only be charged the current session rate for this meeting. If you are seeking counselling for your child the first session will be with the parent/ carer and not the young person. This is to ensure we have time to discuss your worries and concerns for your child in a confidential space.
In addition I will provide you with an agreement to sign detailing areas in term of session times , confidentiality , cancellation policy and fees. As a parent seeking therapy for your child it is imperative we are able to explore the confidentially and safeguarding implications of this type of work.
I will carry out a short detailed assessment to enable me to get a clearer understanding of your circumstances or that of your young person.
There will also be space for you to ask any questions and address any worries or concerns you may have. I apricate how daunting attending therapy may be , so It is my aim to provide a safe gentle environment to help you feel at ease.
