About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Natalie and my practice is called Olive Tree Counselling. I am a person-centred, pschotherapeutic counsellor working with 12–18-year-olds online (UK) www.olivetreecounselling.org
In-person SN1 4AS (3 - 18 yrs)
Separate to my online practice; I work for a local school as the School Counsellor (primary/secondary)
I also offer Trauma-Informed-Training for Schools.
I can meet your young person in an ONLINE SPACE via Google Meet as a way of meeting the client right where they are at. It is often a preferred way of meeting for young people and can be more comfortable. It is also an opportunity to discuss their own online safety awareness.
I specialise in helping young people that experience anxiety, panic attacks, gender dysphoria, disassociation and struggling to manage their emotions in everyday life.
My therapeutic model is integrative, which means that I can call upon a variety of modalities to best suit the needs of your young person.
Practice description
I offer sessions through Google Meet anywhere in the UK.
Sessions are (often) weekly, at the same time, 50 minutes in duration and are open ended depending on what is best for the adolescent.
If you are under 18 and interested in getting counselling then you would need to have a parent/carer agree for that to happen to go ahead.
If you are an adolescent or parent then please feel free to get in touch either on this page, my website, phone, email, facebook or instagram.
My first session
I aim to explore what’s going on at a deeper/unconscious level and look at any underlying trauma.
I allow the client to lead me in a safe and boundaried space that I have created.
I help the client to discover grounding techniques when having processed difficult feelings, which they can aim to then implement into their every day life.
I offer a therapeutic relationship that is non-judgemental and accepting. I implement self-compassion, curiosity and awareness to help the client develop in these areas.
I have special interest and experience in helping young people to manage anxiety and panic attacks. Helping them to identify their current triggers, past traumas and discover coping strategies. I implement self-compassion and mindfulness to help build resilience and self-esteem.
I work with feelings in the body to identify patterns of disassociation.
I aim to bring psycho-education to the young people that I am working with to develop their understanding of good mental health.
What I can help with
Anxiety, Bereavement, Depression, LGBTQ+ counselling, Self esteem, Self-harm, Trauma
Types of therapy
Gestalt, Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Play therapy
