About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited  member of the BACP.  I work as a person centred integrative counsellor.

I have a counselling room based at home.  There is a private access to the room. It is a  warm, quiet and a safe space for clients.  I also visit clients in their own home, if they have difficulty getting out.

I work weekdays and evenings.

Practice description

Being a person centred, integrative counsellor with a wide range of knowledge and experience.   I am able to work with clients who may  bring difficult and sometimes  traumatic  and painful issues.  I work with dignity and respect.

Each client is given equal consideration and treatment, regardless of their sex, race, religion, age, sexual orientation and beliefs.  without  judgment.

I believe the therapeutic relationship can help you find a better understanding of yourself, that may bring changes that will enable to manage you way you think or behave, to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing.

My first session

When I receive an enquiry for counselling, I ask if the client would like to discuss in more detail their reasons for seeking counselling. This is usually conducted over the telephone at a time that suits both of us.  The introductory 'chat' is free of charge, without obligation to continue if it doesn't feel right for the client.  But will enable a discussion to discover, if I am the right counsellor for them, perhaps with the appropriate knowledge and expertise  they need and whether it feels right.  ie: we can work together well.

There will be an assessment but it is as a  conversation, the reason for  this is to assatain if I am the right counsellor for you and how I may be able to help you.  I may need to ask further questions just to clarify we both understand the purpose of the counselling and the expectations of the client.  There will be opportunity to ask questions to gain further understanding of what to expect.

We will arrange our first session:  time, date, day to  met,  where to park, how to pay. it is beneficial to met same time and day each week if possible. I will send,  via email,  our  working agreement and  information regarding data privcy documentation, to  be signed if agreed.
