About me and my therapy practice

I offer a non-judgemental, inclusive, and supportive space for all. My person-centred approach means I walk alongside you in your healing journey, honouring you as the expert of your own life. I recognise that many face systemic barriers and discrimination, and I’m here to offer support that validates your experiences.

I work with people from all walks of life, with a focus on supporting those from marginalised communities, including but not limited to:

LGBTQIA+ individuals

People of colour

Neurodivergent individuals

Care experienced/adoption related

BDSM/kink communities

Religious trauma

Workplace issues

Therapy should feel safe and accessible. I’m happy to accommodate any sensory needs or preferences—feel free to bring fidget toys, weighted blankets, or anything else that helps you feel comfortable.

Practice description

As a neurodivergent person myself, I understand how important sensory comfort can be. I’ll do my very best to accommodate your needs—whether that’s adjusting room lighting, managing sounds or scents, adapting colours, offering breaks during sessions, or being flexible with how the counselling is delivered. Please do let me know about any sensory requirements, and we can work together to create a space that feels right for you. You’re also welcome to bring a hobby or activity—anything calming or familiar that supports your comfort during our sessions.

What to Expect in Our Counselling Sessions

Starting counselling can feel overwhelming, especially if you're unsure what to expect. To help make things feel more predictable and reassuring, here’s a simple overview:

1. A Friendly Hello

We’ll begin with a relaxed check-in. In your first session, I’ll take some practical details—your name, address, GP and next of kin info, brief medical history, medications, and your goals for therapy.

We'll also talk about confidentiality, safety, and I’ll share a counselling agreement and GDPR guidelines for you to review and sign.

Note: I’ll only contact your GP or next of kin in an emergency, or after discussing it with you.

In future sessions, we’ll simply check in—how you’ve been and how you’re feeling.

2. Finding What Matters

You’re free to talk about whatever feels important. If you’re unsure where to begin, I can help guide us gently into conversation.

3. Working Together

We’ll explore your thoughts and feelings at a pace that suits you. You’re always in control. If anything feels too much, or you'd like to shift focus, that’s completely okay.

4. Tools and Support (Optional)

Sometimes I may offer journaling prompts, handouts, or strategies to try between sessions. These are always optional—only if they feel right for you.

5. Wrapping Up

We’ll end with a brief recap and check-in on how you're feeling. If there’s something you’d like to focus on next time, you’re welcome to say so.

A Few Extra Bits:

Sessions are around 50 minutes

No need to prepare anything in advance

Silence, emotion, laughter, or uncertainty are all welcome

There’s no “right” way to do this—we’ll take it step by step, together.
