About me and my therapy practice
Qualifications -
MSt, Psychodynamic Practice, University of Oxford.
MSc, Theoretical Psychoanalytics, UCL.
I help people with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety and relationship problems. I specialise in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, which is a deep exploration of the unconscious mind through symbolic, creative interpretation. I combine Jungian and Psychoanalytic therapy to facilitate a journey of self discovery.
In therapy we will look at your interactions and experiences between yourself and others, experiences in the moment in therapy, and experiences within different and often conflicting aspects of yourself. We will use this to gain insight into your personality, to resolve internal conflicts and to promote healing and development.
People who have tried CBT or integrative counselling and have found it hasn't worked for them often do better in psychodynamic therapy.
Practice description
I act as a neutral mirror, reflecting what is there without judgement, prejudice or interference.
If you are interested in exploring more then I offer an assessment session at no charge, so feel free to enquire.
Experience -
Over 10,000 clinical hours accross 5 years post qualification. I am also a visiting lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience.
I have experience in all presentations from severe trauma and personality disorders, to more common issues of relationships, anxiety and depression, from ages spanning 18-80 years old, male and female.
Outside of private practice I work in a specialist NHS service providing psychotherapy.
My first session
First sessions can feel anxiety provoking. Rest assured that our first session will be relaxed and exploratory, where we get to understand the issue, and you can get a feeling for how the therapy will work and ask any questions you might have.
