About me and my therapy practice
Contemplating counselling can be quite daunting, but this is the first step. Mental health issues have a profound impact on us, which affect our thoughts and feelings, it is not always easy to talk to the people around us. You might feel as though you are being judged.it could also be that you are struggling to express how you are feeling. Whatever your reasons are in seeking counselling, I offer a safe space to talk with no judgement. I am a fully qualified counsellor trained to listen and explore and reflect on your issues. I offer my clients the Person-Centred approach, which is a popular approach to therapy. It is led by the client allowing them to discuss anything that is important to themselves. By being offered the right conditions, a human being can change and grow in confidence positively. I aim to have a deep understanding of every client, being accepting of them & their issues, offering them no judgement & genuineness at all times.
I have worked at Cruse bereavement offering support for loss. I have also worked at leeds Mind and HMP Leeds, of which I have a special interest in.
I have significant life experience which enables me to offer each client deep empathy and understanding.
Practice description
I offer unlimited counselling without any pressure, this is your time. I work with many issues such as bereavement, trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, low self- esteem, relationship difficulties, troubled childhoods, emotional & sexual abuse.
I work with men & women, youths & students. It takes strength to reach for help when you are struggling. I have watched my clients overcome their troubles and achieve positive results.
My first session
I work as a sole therapist, in my own home, offering a safe and tranquil space.
I offer 50 minute sessions for individuals, 1hr for couples. I also work via Skype, FaceTime etc, which are successful and have the same results.
Meeting me for the first time can cause some anxiety, which is normal. I endeavour to make you feel relaxed, safe and comfortable, ensuring that you have nothing to fear. At our first session I will leave it up to you whether you would like to go ahead and continue with counselling, there is no pressure and you do not need to decide straight away.
