About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, with a background in working with children and young people.

I have worked with children and young people ages 5-25 in schools, colleges and therapeutic settings for over ten years.

I trained in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counselling (MEd & PGDip) at the University of Cambridge.

I studied Psychology (BA) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Practice description

Through a consistent, warm relationship, I aim to create enough safety and trust to build up your sense of self, explore difficult feelings and create new emotional experiences and possibilities.

My approach is:

  • Integrative
Informed by humanistic, creative, trauma-informed and neuroscience theories. Helping young people feel more integrated.

  • Age-Appropriate
Specially trained in developmentally appropriate therapy for children and young people. Offering opportunities to talk, play or be creative, depending on the individual's needs.

  • Neurodiversity-Affirmative
Experienced in working with neurodivergent individuals. I strive to adapt my ways of working to accommodate diverse ways of being, communicating and engaging with therapy.

  • LGBTQ+ Affirmative
Positively welcoming all gender identities and sexual orientations. I affirm how you self-identify.

  • Creative
Encouraging creativity (art, images, metaphor, play) to support self-expression.

My first session

I will ask you to fill out a brief consent form prior to our first session.

Meetings are online. Please ensure you have a quiet space where you will not be overheard.

In our first session we may talk about what is bringing you to counselling, your hopes and hesitations about the process and whether counselling is right for you at this time. Coming to counselling should be your choice. After an initial meeting, there is no obligation to continue if it does not feel right.
