About me and my therapy practice
When you're looking for a therapist, finding the right fit is so important - and so hard to do! You need to know you'll feel safe, held and heard by whomever you choose to see. I will do my best to provide this safe space and to create the right conditions for you to grow.
As an integrative therapist and coach, I have been trained to listen – attentively, deeply – to really hear what’s going on underneath the surface. I'm not the sort of therapist who will sit back silently while you struggle. I am warm and chatty and will engage fully in the process with you, bringing the best of myself to help you find a way to manage the challenges you are facing.
Originally trained in philosophy, I later spent many years as a newspaper journalist, writer, and communications specialist in the corporate world. I currently lecture part-time in Integrative Counselling & Coaching at a University in London, meaning I am constantly engaged in the conversation about what makes a great therapist and constantly learning how to best be of service to my clients and their lives.
I work in a way that’s very relational – research proves that a good relationship is the key to a successful therapy outcome. Beyond that, my modality is integrative, which means I blend elements of several theoretical models to create the best mix for each individual. I combine elements of person-centred, existential and psychodynamic theory, working in a flexible and creative way to suit your needs.
Importantly, I’m also trained in coaching because, as well as your past, I’m also deeply interested in your future. I want to know what you want and to work with you to discover how to get there.
I work very well with issues around work, relationships, ‘stuckness’, uncertainty over the future and more.
I believe everyone could benefit from the sort of rich relationship of trust that's established during therapy. Get in touch for an initial chat if you would like to explore working together.
