About me and my therapy practice
My name is Rachael and I am a trauma informed person-centred counsellor and a registered, accredited member of the BACP.
In my counselling practice I am compassionate and caring with a firm ethical and professional approach. I offer a warm, confidential, therapeutic space where you may discuss whatever you may wish, without judgement. We may work together for an agreed number of sessions or in an ‘open ended’ approach.
During the past years, I have worked with a wide variety of clients with issues ranging from trauma, grief and bereavement, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, abuse (in its many forms), health conditions, everyday stressors and loneliness.
Alongside private counselling, I work as a therapist with a charitable organization based in Chester, providing counselling to clients facing adversity and often multiple, complex issues. I am a certified Clinical Trauma Professional, an ADHD Clinical Services Provider and a Clinical Supervisor (I supervise the practice of other therapists).
I have worked abroad in diverse, multinational and multicultural environments and enjoy working with diversity and across cultures.
Beyond counselling, I have a background in health care. I have practiced as a health educator and have been a registered nurse for many years. In my nursing career I specialized in oncology and palliative care which, along with my personal life experience, has given me a deep understanding of grief and loss. I am certified Grief Educator, thereby am committed to providing the highest level of grief support through education, experience, tools and insights.
