About me and my therapy practice
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner with over 10 years of experience of working in different psychological services in NHS. Currently I am working part time in Complex Emotional Needs Team in NHS Gloucestershire.
In my private practice I offer regular sessions for individuals, couples and families face to face and via Skype.
As a psychologist, I am trained in more than one psychotherapy method. My practice is regulated by the British Psychological Society and the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I adhere to their codes of conduct and I am fully insured and supervised. I work in an integrative way. I am experienced in psychodynamic therapy, person-centred therapy, humanistic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), emotional freedom therapy (EFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectic behavioural therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I often use a combination of these therapies depending on what is best for the client. I listen carefully and I consider your experience and all information including your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in developing an individualised therapy plan. I work collaboratively, I research your concerns and make a tailored plan to resolve the problem or reach a goal you bring into the session.
Practice description
I work extensively with low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, interpersonal and family issues. I take particular interest in such areas as weight management; trauma; loss of a loved one, relationship, job, life plans; marital difficulties; parenting, fertility, ante and post-natal experience; life stage change, crisis, retirement and illness, dreams and nightmares.
My therapeutic work can help you further your emotional understanding and regulation, confidence, achieve life goals and enhance relationships of all types. I can help you to achieve self-awareness, make a change, increase resilience and coping skills, develop and try new perspectives, patterns and behaviours and bring relief from stress and distress. In order to achieve this, I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental environment where you can feel accepted and to talk about what troubles you.
I respect your right to be you. I work alongside you and I think with you. Your experience is important and there is a need for you to be heard and understood in order for you to make progress. We can focus on the past, the present or both. Often present difficulties or distress can be connected with past experiences or childhood experiences.
At present I am offering counselling and psychotherapy sessions via telephone and various online applications, making it accessible and convenient for the clients. Bookings are open now with a possibility to block book to get a discount.

My first session
In the first session you will have an opportunity to meet me, see how I work, I will learn about the difficulties you experience and together we will discuss the next steps. By the end of the first session we collaboratively identify an approximate piece of work we might focus on in the following therapy sessions and the changes you might want to experience in your wellbeing short-term and long-term.
