About me and my therapy practice

I'm Olivia, a professional Therapist helping Couples and Individuals, across the UK and abroad, to recover from trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. I offer a free online consultation to talk through your hopes for therapy.

I specialise in helping people recover from anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem and the pain of a wounded past. Relationships are a special area of interest as our relationships - with ourselves and others, form such a large part of our life and dictates so much about how we feel about ourselves.

How do problematic relationships affect us? You might be struggling with the demands of life because you don't feel at ease within yourself or in your relationships. This might be accompanied by a sense of unhappiness, despair or worry and stress that has become unmanageable.

You might know things are not right because:

*You are anxious and preoccupied with your thoughts.

*Your moods and energy levels are low.

*You have a sense of emptiness or feel a deep loneliness.

*Life feels stressful, demanding or unsatisfying.

*Your relationships can be source of pain and disappointment.

*Your self-esteem is low.

*You are managing your feelings and struggles in unhealthy ways.

You are not alone if you do feel this way, there are many reasons why life might feel difficult right now: your circumstances, fears around global events, trauma, a difficult or damaging childhood, hurtful relationships or daily life struggles can really take their toll. Sometimes we don't know why we feel the way we do, we just know it hurts.

Practice description

I WORK WITH: Anxiety, fear, panic attacks and OCD. Grief and loss. Depression, low mood, feeling without hope or motivation. Divorce, problem relationships, family tensions or loneliness. Low Self-Esteem. Relationships, difficulties and conflicts, endings, families, friends. Problematic coping mechanism such as excessive drinking and over-eating.

How I work: I work online via Zoom video call. I undertook specific training in order to deliver effective therapy at a time of great need, in order that I could meet with people without the restrictions of location and travel. My Clients and I have found this way of meeting and sharing convenient, safe, comfortable and highly effective. If you would like to meet to experience this way of engaging in therapy, I offer a free 20-minute Consultation.

I offer Individual Therapy (50-minute sessions) £55. Single Session Therapy/intensive solution-focussed (90-minutes) £80 and Couples Therapy (60-minutes) £65. Therapy for trainee Therapists 50-minutes £45. For more details about these services, please visit my website.

The Therapy: I work using a variety of approaches tailored to your needs and personality. These include, Gestalt Therapy, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory & CBT. Gestalt focusses on our here & now experience, in mind & body, drawing together our past hurts & our fears for the future, bringing into awareness our 'stuckness' & repeating patterns of thought & behaviour. It explores our learned ways of coping that may no longer be useful to us.

Internal Family Systems is a fascinating look at our internal world, the variety of 'Parts' that help or hinder us and how coming to know them more fully helps us to understand what is is to be us and how to become more fully who we want to be.

Mindfulness is a state of being - a place where we can be truly present, autonomous and at peace.

Attachment Theory underpins our style of relating to others and is crucial in relationship work.

My first session

Once you have decided to get in touch, we can arrange a mutually convenient time for an initial 20-minute consultation. This is free of charge and provides an opportunity to begin to get to know one another, to look at what has bought you to seek therapy and is a time for you to decide if I am the right counsellor for you.

 Subsequent Video or Telephone sessions are charged at £55 per session. I have some concessions available at a reduced rate of £45 for Counselling and Psychotherapy Students. Intensive 90-minute, solution-focussed therapy is £80

Availability: I realise that life can be busy and unpredictable and so aim to be as flexible as possible. Appointments can be made singularly, in blocks or on a flexible basis as we go along.
