About me and my therapy practice
I offer private face-to-face therapy to clients in Amersham as well as online and telephone therapy. In my counselling practice I provide a space where you can talk safely and without judgement. My approach to counselling is person-centred. I am typically non-directive in my work and I commit to being alongside you whilst you explore your thoughts, feelings or worries. Everyone has different experiences and perspectives and during our sessions I will do my best to understand your world.
Practice description
I work with clients with a wide variety of issues including, but not limited to; anxiety, addiction, anger, abuse, low self-esteem, relationship issues, stress, bereavement, work related issues, self-harm, trauma and suicidal thoughts. I work with young people aged 14 and above and adults.
In addition to working as a private practitioner, I have volunteered with Bucks Mind and worked as a volunteer counsellor at a youth counselling agency called Time to Talk. I have also volunteered at One Recovery Bucks, where I worked with clients who were struggling with addiction.
As well as being a member of the BACP, I am also a member of the British Psychological Society and have a MSc in Occupational Psychology. I have worked for more than 20 years in a corporate roles with experience in coaching, training and leadership development.
My first session
I strongly believe that we all have the ability to grow and change. I know that it takes courage to contact a counsellor and I will happily answer any questions you may have. If you are interested or would like to know more please do get in touch via email or phone. If you send me an email I will call you back at a convenient time for a free telephone consultation. During the phone conversation we can talk a little about your situation and anything you would like to get out of counselling.
If you decide to go ahead I will send you some information and we will can book an initial 50 minute session. I charge £40 for this first session. It is important as it gives you the opportunity to decide whether you would like to continue with more regular sessions. If you decide to continue we can arrange weekly or more flexible sessions to suit you. Subsequent sessions are charged at £55 for 50 minutes.
I offer face-to-face sessions from a garden room in Amersham and also remotely via Zoom and telephone, I am flexible to suit clients needs.
