About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, my name is Marion, I offer counselling in English and Dutch. I can support spoken language with BSL.
Has your life become unexpectedly challenging? Are you feeling burdened, confused or low? Sometimes relationships can change, or work can overwhelm us. The loss of a loved one (bereavement), or the mental burden of the care for others can be times when we need the extra support that counselling can give. We may have to cope with serious health issues, either our own or those of someone close to us.
How can I help?
When you feel stuck it can be useful to explore your thoughts and feelings in therapy. In counselling we work together trying to understand your experiences and working towards a better emotional wellbeing. Some clients prefer to off-load and share their difficulty with someone who listens without judgement. Just the sharing of a burden can be a tremendous relief. Other clients are looking for change and would like to have that extra support to achieve that change.
Our work together will focus on what you want to discuss and work towards the outcome you want.
If you have been considering counselling for a while now, why not give it a try? We tend to look after our bodies well, but it is equally important to look after our minds and mental health. Reaching out for help can seem daunting, but it is brave at the same time. It is an investment in yourself.
Practice description
In my practice I use a person-centred approach. I draw from different types of therapy.
It is important that you can trust your counsellor. I offer a safe place for you to talk about your life and experiences. I am not there to judge you: to be non-judgmental is a fundamental element of my approach. To be able to confide in someone is a therapeutic experience. You choose and remain in charge of how much or how little you want to share with me.
Another element is that I counsel from a holistic perspective. I believe that body and mind are connected. Sometimes we get a physical reaction in response to an issue we are dealing with in our minds. Likewise, dealing with a physical condition has an impact on our minds. Counselling can be helpful to support you. The counselling process can change your perspective and improve your quality of life and emotional wellbeing.
