About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am an experienced therapeutic and holistic psychotherapist with over 10 years experience working with clients with a wide range of mental health issues. I hold a qualification in therapeutic counselling using the psychodynamic theory.

My experience and expertise has been gained from working within a youth counselling centre, from setting up and running the  counselling service within a local GP surgery, providing  counselling to students in two local high schools and from running my private practice. I have worked with clients from many different backgrounds and ages ranging from 11-75.

I adopt an integrative approach with clients which allows me to adapt the therapy according to the individual needs of the client. There are many people who maybe dealing with anxiety or depression for example, but each one of those individuals experience will be different.

I believe that it is important for the client and therapist to build a good therapeutic relationship to enable the client to gain the most benefit from their therapy experience.

I am not here to advise you, or to give you the answers to your problems, but to support you in finding your own solutions to the issues you may currently be experiencing. Thus empowering you to feel confident in making the changes you want to make to live your life in a more healthier and happier way

Do you find yourself stuck in the past, thinking about old relationships or your childhood, is their 'stuff' you cannot shake off? Do you worry about the future, thinking about tomorrow all the time? Do you find yourself not being able to sleep due to stress and anxiety and thoughts of all the things you 'have' to do?

Are you able to enjoy 'today, the present moment'? How do you relax? do you relax? Are you happy? Do you enjoy life? What do you want? What do you need?

Talking therapy can be a very helpful way to explore old patterns of thinking and behaviours that no longer work for you or make you happy.

Practice description

I offer a safe and non judgemental space for clients to explore their feelings and thoughts. I can support you through, what can often be, a very emotional and difficult experience when talking about sometimes painful and traumatic experiences. Together we can look at thought patterns and behaviours that may no longer be working for you in your life. I can help you to build a better relationship with yourself which can then enable you to create healthier boundaries and improving the relationships you have with others.
