Practice description
Individual Adult Therapy
Individual counselling provides a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to explore the feelings and experiences that may be negatively impacting your well-being.
Carrying the weight of daily life can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression, and stress, often resulting in anger toward yourself or those close to you, a fear of being genuine, or low self-esteem.
In our work together, the aim is to empower you to unlock your inner resources for resolving personal challenges. You can expect to develop a greater capacity to handle life’s difficulties positively, improve your emotional well-being, build resilience, and create a more fulfilling life.
As a person-centred counsellor, I will walk alongside you, allowing you to set the pace that feels comfortable. I accept your experiences without judgment and commit to being an active listener. Through reflective communication, we can accurately explore your thoughts and feelings together, paving the way for positive outcomes.
Child and Adolescent Therapy
Many young people struggle with their emotions, facing pressures from school, family life, friendships, and social media. These challenges can lead to feelings of vulnerability, anxiety, depression, anger, and fear, all of which can negatively impact their mental well-being. Often, they may feel scared or uncomfortable discussing their feelings with family members, friends, or teachers, fearing judgment. I provide a safe, confidential, and supportive environment where they can openly express themselves.
My goal is to help them explore these challenges and develop effective coping strategies and skills to thrive.
With experience working in Further Education, Secondary, and Primary Schools, as well as in Special Educational settings for students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) issues, I am well-equipped to support young people in their journey. I also hold Full Enhanced DBS clearance, ensuring a safe environment for your child.
My first session
I provide a complimentary 30-minute initial consultation to discuss your goals for counselling and to explore how we might work together to achieve them. This consultation can be conducted in person, over the phone, or via Zoom, depending on your preference.
To get in touch, please use the 'send message' button on this directory listing or visit my website at glenncoopercounselling.co.uk.
