About me and my therapy practice

Hello and thanks for visiting…I am a fully qualified person-centred and EMDR therapist, offering a warm, empathic, nonjudgmental approach to help my clients safely explore and heal whatever is holding them back or causing them distress. I am originally from the US, and I trained and practiced in the New York City area for many years before moving to the UK. I use an integrative approach to look at what factors in your current life may be contributing to unhappiness or discomfort, while also looking to your past history to inform the present. Having had the privilege to work with diverse populations, I utilise a culturally sensitive approach in my work, and I consider it an honour to work with all people, regardless of age, culture, race, religion, ethnicity, ability, gender or sexual orientation. A top priority in my practice is a non-judgmental, client-centred approach, and by offering a caring, supportive environment, my hope is to help others realise their potential for happiness.

Practice description

I pay particular attention not only to what happens in the "thinking brain," but also to how the body holds emotions and experiences. By integrating talk therapy, EMDR, mind-body techniques and parts work, I work collaboratively with clients to achive overall well-being and ease. Above all, I endeavour to create a safe space for you to regulate the nervous system and experience new ways of coping and relating.

Areas of focus include, among others: trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety, family of origin and developmental challenges, identity and self-worth. EMDR is fully applicable to an online platform, and in fact, many people feel the benefit of engaging in therapy from the comfort of their own home.

I hold a master’s degree from Barry University and completed EMDR training at the EMDR Institute, which was founded by EMDR creator Dr. Francine Shapiro. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, MBACP (Accred), counsellor member of COSCA and an LCSW in the states of New York and Florida. LCSW is a protected mental health title licensed by the state, and requires a master's degree, 2,000 supervised practicum hours, a minimum of three years of experience and passing a rigorous national board exam).

I work exclusively online with ages 18 and up, holding hours during the daytime from Monday through Thursday. Clients may opt for weekly or fortnightly sessions.
