About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced and qualified counsellor, I work integratively, meaning that my training allows me to draw upon a range of theoretical models so that we can tailor the work we do to your individual needs.
Practice description
Sometimes it can be difficult to talk to friends and relatives about how you’re feeling. I offer a non-judgmental, confidential space in which you can explore your experiences and discuss problems and difficulties.
Counselling sessions give you the time, attention and focus to explore what's going on in your life and find a way forward.
Together we can help create space and perspective, a chance to breathe and take in experiences and to release others. Ultimately to find a sense of balance.
I work with adults and young people over 15 years of age and have experience of working with a wide variety of issues. I have extensive experience of working with anxiety and low mood.
My experience and training also includes working therapeutically with the partners and family members of Neurodivergent individuals. I also work with those coming to terms with a ‘late’ or adult diagnosis of neurodiversity, be that ADHD, ASD and/or Dyslexia .

I offer a free 20 min Zoom call for an initial meeting to discuss your needs from counselling. This is also a good chance for you to see if I'm a good fit for you.

About me and my therapy practice
I’m a qualified and registered BACP counsellor providing counselling for adults and young people over 15.
I understand that taking those first steps into therapy can be daunting. I offer a welcoming and calm space where you can begin to explore what's going and find a way forward with a trained professional.
Trying to work though painful feelings or stressful life events alone can be very difficult and sometimes we don't want to talk to friends or family about it. I offer a safe, neutral, non-judgmental space to explore any thoughts or feelings that have been prominent in your life, whether in the past, the present or quite possibly both. Together we work to create a therapeutic relationship, meeting as equals to empower and encourage you to explore and recognise patterns of behaviour that may be helpful for you to address. We can work together to set new, achievable goals for a different future and to implement change..
Practice description
I am trained primarily in person-centred therapy and work integratively, using principles from person-centred and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT).
How talking therapy can help.
Talking about your feelings with a trained professional like myself can help you explore what's going on in your life in a safe, confidential and nurturing environment.
You may want to look in more detail at what's happening for you in your relationships, or how patterns of thinking might be contributing to uncomfortable levels of anxiety, rumination or low mood.
I have a wealth of experience supporting students through stressful degree and Phd programmes and young adults in their first professional positions. I also have experience of working with individuals who have received a late diagnosis of ASD or ADHD, helping them navigate this new landscape post diagnosis.
In session we might discuss how Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) techniques could help your particular situation, exploring the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
I always work with absolute respect for the BACP ethical guidelines and naturally I will always put your interests at the centre of our work together.
My first session
Initially, I offer a free 20 minute phone or Zoom call to discuss your needs from counselling. We can decide at this point if you would rather see me in person for face to face sessions or over Zoom video calls.
What can I expect in the first session?
During our first meeting, we will discuss what you hope to get out of therapy. We will also begin to consider your personal background and any issues that you are facing in your life. The first appointment is a good chance for you to see if I'm a good fit for you, we would normally then meet on a weekly or fortnightly basis. The number of sessions you have is completely under your control.
